Longues-sur-Mer
A piece of the Atlantic Wall in Normandy
In Longues-sur-Mer, the German battery is one of the major works of the Atlantic wall. At the top of a 60-meter high cliff, the battery includes a command post and four casemates, each housing an original 150 mm gun. On D-Day, it took the whole day of June 6th to capture the battery and finally reduce it to silence.
